The following Summer Teaching Opportunity is now available for any qualified individual who is looking for a meaningful but short-term teaching and learning experience in China.
Program fee include round-trip ticket to China, room and meals, transportations and tours in China, tuition for the Chinese language and culture course.
Free guided excursions are held on weekends for you to discover the city's major historical and cultural attractions. Admission, transportation and English speaking guides are provided at no extra cost. These tours provide an opportunity for you to deepen your knowledge of China's rich history and cultural heritage.
UCE's professional international teaching staff with years of experience in teaching English as a Foreign Language provide mentor supervision and support. Further, you will be assisted by administrative support staff that are available for information, advice and assistance throughout the program.
This summer program may qualify for international internship and/or 3 to 6 credit hours accepted by colleges and universities. You should contact your home institution and academic adviser to get pre-approval for possible credits.
Qualification
The program is for any qualified individual who is looking for a meaningful teaching and learning experience in China. The following are required:
- Native English speaker
Neither teaching experience nor knowing Chinese language is required. We encourage the love of teaching and learning about other cultures.
There are optional free classes on "Survival Mandarin" are taught by qualified and experienced native Chinese teachers. You will learn everyday Chinese words including phrases and words commonly used when teaching. Textbooks are supplied at no additional cost. Total Beginner to Advanced levels offered.
Participants will need to adapt to local circumstances and conditions. The placements are for English language teachers. You do not need to know any Chinese or have taught previously.
